Stade Stade Rennais FC and Eintracht Frankfurt are in talks for the transfer of 26-year-old defender Lilian Brassier, with a fee around 12 million euros. The central defender, contracted until 2029, may leave Stade Rennais FC after months of negotiations. The German club has shown clear interest in the player, who was recently signed by Stade Rennais FC in January 2025 after a difficult season at Marseille. Brassier, a regular starter last season, saw his status challenged with the arrival of Charlie Cresswell and Gonçalo Oliveira in defense. Stade Rennais FC' management anticipated a possible departure, which Brassier accepted, as he wasn't in the training group for the match against PSG. Eintracht Frankfurt, which changed its sporting direction, launched talks after seeing Stade Rennais FC open to a potential exit. The player, trained at the club, could experience international football after winning Ligue 1 in 2024.
