Close to Loan Move from Stade Rennais FC to Racing Santander

According to French media reports, Stade Rennais FC's Moroccan forward Yasser Zabiri is close to joining Spanish club Racing Santander on loan. This move aims to provide him with more playing time and experience.

Deal Details

French website Foot Mercato states that Zabiri has already agreed the terms with Racing Santander, leaving only a few final details before the deal is officially finalized. The 20-year-old player joined Stade Rennais FC during the last winter transfer window from Portuguese club Famalicão for €10 million, signing a contract until summer 2029.

Career at Stade Rennais FC and New Opportunities

Despite initial investment, Zabiri has not had the opportunity to showcase his talents within the team. He has featured in only six matches with a total of about 42 minutes played. His position within the squad deteriorated following changes in the coaching staff, notably with the departure of Habib Beye and the appointment of Franck Haise as new coach. This prompted Zabiri to seek a club where he could secure more game time to continue his development and regain his competitive rhythm.

Expectations and Prospects in Spain

Zabiri is considered one of Morocco's most promising rising talents, having attracted attention during the U20 World Cup where he was the tournament's top scorer. This achievement led Stade Rennais FC to invest in his talent. The player hopes that his upcoming experience in La Liga will provide him with an opportunity to prove his abilities and live up to the high expectations placed upon him.
