Bronze Sculptures Installed at Stade Rennais F.C.
Stade Rennais F.C. inaugurated three bronze sculptures in the opening of their new training facility, La Piverdière. These works, created by Thomas Schütte and sourced from the Pinault Collection, represent the stages of a body's development and soul’s maturation.
About Thomas Schütte
Born in 1954 in Oldenburg (Germany), Thomas Schütte is one of the leading figures in contemporary sculpture. His work, which combines sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and ceramics, has been exhibited for over forty years at the world’s leading international institutions.
About the Pinault Collection
Built up over more than fifty years by François Pinault, the Pinault Collection brings together a major body of modern and contemporary art. The collection works to make contemporary art accessible to as many people as possible and to foster encounters between artworks, artists, and all audiences.
About NeM Architectes
The architectural practice NeM / Niney et Marca Architectes was founded in 2008 by Lucie Niney and Thibault Marca, graduates of the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-La Villette. The practice develops an approach attentive to the challenges of the ecological transition, new ways of living, adapting existing buildings, and cultural programs, in service of a poetic, understated, and innovative architecture.
About La Piverdière
The new training facility inaugurated by Stade Rennais F.C., named La Piverdière, is designed by NeM Architectes. It includes a performance center, administrative headquarters, and academy, while honoring the opening of the group Drei Ganz Große Geister [Three Very Great Spirits].
