Stade Rennais FC will sell for 120 million euros, a big summer clean-up. The club has obtained the green light from the DNCG for the 2026-2027 season, but it must still sell to balance its books. The figure, first, because it's a big one: between 110 and 120 million euros. That's the amount of sales that the Breton leaders hope to collect on this summer market. A part is already in the bag — or rather in the accounts — thanks to the transfer of Jérémy Jacquet to Liverpool for 70 million. The rest remains to be found. Quickly, and without breaking the sports box. Why such a clean-up? The answer lies in a few lines of balance. President Arnaud Pouille has recognized without hesitation: with a level of expenses approaching 130 million euros and commercial revenues well below, the club must, year after year, make up a negative operating result (of the order of 30 million) by the sale of players. The trading as oxygen. The model has its limits, but it has proven itself: last summer, Stade Rennais FC had already collected nearly 140 million. The dice are cast, therefore, and the list of departures is becoming clearer. Breel Embolo, in the final year of his contract, would be keeping a close eye on an opportunity in the Gulf. Seko Fofana is also among the most serious candidates for departure. Djaoui Cissé and Jordan James, on the other hand, are fueling the interest, while a last departure could be recorded among Glen Kamara, Ludovic Blas or Alidu Seidu. Five sales, in short, to close the equation. Not everyone is for sale, however. The Stade Rennais FC boss has drawn his red lines: Brice Samba, Estéban Lepaul and Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal will not move — unless, he slipped, an offer 'exceeding understanding' is made. A door left ajar, out of prudence. We never know. The final objective, the true one, remains. Once the accounts are balanced, the management wants to free up an envelope of around 60 million euros to strengthen a team called to compete in Europe. Selling to invest: the formula is known, the bet, however, remains risky. Too dependent on trading, it's exposing oneself to the slightest grain of sand. One thing is sure: this summer, the Roazhon Park will be a hub. The players know it, their agents too, and the locker room is probably already talking about it. Between financial necessity and sporting ambition, Stade Rennais FC is advancing on a tightrope. The market opens on June 15. In Stade Rennais FC, it will have the air of an auction.
