Montpellier Secures Nordan Mukiele
Montpellier has announced the signing of Nordan Mukiele, a 20-year-old forward from Stade Rennais, for the upcoming 2026/27 season. The loan deal is expected to provide fresh impetus to the Ligue 2 side as they prepare for the new campaign.
Mukiele, the younger brother of former Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier defender Nordi Mukiele, will wear the No. 19 shirt during his time at MHSC (Montpellier Hérault Sport Club). The official statement from Montpellier reads: 'The young forward, brother of former Pailladin Nordi, has been loaned to MHSC by Stade Rennais for the 2026–2027 season. Welcome to our new No. 19.'
Background and Performance
Mukiele made a total of 15 appearances between Stade Rennais FC' first team and reserve side last season, scoring three goals and registering one assist. He also featured eight times in Ligue 1, finding the net once. His performances have been notable, and Montpellier hopes he can make an immediate impact at his new club.
Despite transfer speculation surrounding Vangelis Pavlidis of Benfica, the Portuguese club remains relaxed about his future. Head coach Marco Silva wants to keep the Greece international as a key player for the upcoming season. Pavlidis has been linked with several clubs but no formal offers have reached Benfica. The striker is under contract until 2029 and has established himself as one of Benfica's most important attacking options.
