Stade Rennais FC has officially appointed Franck Haise as the new head coach of its first team. The former RC Lens and OGC Nice manager, named Ligue 1 Coach of the Year in 2023, returns to the club where he made his mark between 2006 and 2012.
Who is Franck Haise?
A former defender who played for Rouen, Laval, and Angers, Franck Haise began his coaching career at Stade Mayennais before joining the Stade Rennais FC academy. Over six years at La Piverdière, he built a reputation for nurturing young talent. His tenure at RC Lens culminated in a 2nd-place finish in Ligue 1 during the 2022/2023 season, with a sturdy defense conceding just 29 goals.
Why this choice for Stade Rennais FC?
With 200 Ligue 1 matches under his belt, Franck Haise brings experience and discipline. CEO Arnaud Pouille highlights his « commitment to talent development » and « drive to secure European qualification ». Sporting Director Loïc Désiré confirms he was « the top choice » to lead the project.
What’s next for him?
Franck Haise has already met the squad and outlined his vision. His goals: entertain the Rouge et Noir fans, develop young players, and target Europe. A homecoming for the passionate coach, who has historically performed well against Stade Rennais FC (only one loss in 11 matches).
