Stade Rennais FC are heading for a hectic end to the transfer window, with several exits close to completion and at least one new signing in the works. The club still has several deals to finalise before the deadline.
Cissé heading to Strasbourg
Midfielder Djaoui Cissé is moving closer to a transfer to Racing Club de Strasbourg. The player, who initially hoped to stay in Stade Rennais FC, has cleared his locker as he awaits his next move. Crystal Palace, managed by former Stade Rennais FC coach Pierre Sage, is also pushing hard to sign him, while VfB Stuttgart are monitoring the situation. Olympique Lyonnais have withdrawn from the race following their Europa Conference League exit.
Other potential exits
The centre of defence could also see a departure. Lilian Brassier has a strong chance of signing for Eintracht Frankfurt, although the German club is still struggling to finalise an offer of around ten million euros. Right-back Alidu Seidu, tracked by Olympique de Marseille, is also attracting interest from Germany. Finally, attacker Ludovic Blas's future is not entirely secure, although a potential move is not yet concrete.
A conditional arrival
With these potential exits, Stade Rennais FC' technical staff are working on bringing in at least one new player. Attacker Martin Terrier, a former club player, is desired but his current salary at Bayer Leverkusen presents a major financial hurdle. Several other targets are being considered, but their recruitment will only be triggered by an additional sale, particularly in the attacking department. This strategy aims to balance the books while strengthening the squad available to Franck Haise.
Following the opening day draw against Paris Saint-Germain, the club's objective remains clear: to finish in the Ligue 1 Top 5. Managing this final stretch of the transfer window will be key to achieving that.
